Ciclismo Spring+Summer Mountain Bike Program

Program Info:
The Ciclismo program is for high school age athletes seeking mountain bike riding and racing experiences. The goal of this program is to create an inclusive environment where athletes of all abilities are supported to grow as athletes and as people. There are no race or performance expectations. We will give riders the highest quality coaching, more ride time with peers, and foster a supportive team environment to build skills for life long riding with friends.
Program Schedule:
Spring+Summer session dates: April 12-July 20, 2025
Three days per week: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday (practice days or supported events)
Tuesday/Thursday practices: 5:00-7:00pm while school is in session
Option to maintain Tuesday/Thursday evening practices or move to daytime (9:00am-noon) during the Summer (select choice in registration)
Saturday practices: 9:00am-noon

July 20 > End of program BBQ at Lory State Park or Spring Canyon Park TBD
Race Support Includes:
Coach support at the race
Tent with snacks and water
Warm-up and cool-down
Community Events
Event Requirements:
Race entry fees and other costs are the responsibility of each athlete/family
A valid USA Cycling License is required for weekend race events
Riders must:
Have motivation to mountain bike with group of friends/teammates, based on the noted mileage and climbing
Have a mountain bike with at least 26” wheels, gears and handbrakes. It is your responsibility to ensure your rider's bike is safe and operable prior to the start of the program.
Have a safe, properly fitted helmet, gloves, and weather-appropriate clothing, including a raincoat and layers when appropriate + a way to carry these items as well as a spare tube, multi-tool and a pump or CO2.
Weather can be variable and it is critical that riders have proper gear or they will not be able to ride.
Number one rule, Be Respectful to yourself, the environment, to other trail users, their peers, and coaches at all times, including in areas where groups congregate before and after practice.

Program Cost: $1000.00 + processing fees per rider
All athletes receive a $75 credit toward the Ciclismo team store to purchase team kit items
We recommend all riders have both a jersey and fresh bib/shorts each season
Program size: 30 riders (before entering a waitlist)
Registration deadline: March 15, 2025
All parent meeting tentatively scheduled for April 6th or 8th
